Associations and Affiliations
RFI works extensively through partnerships and associations with organizations abroad, and with established senior consulting associates around the world who are experts in their respective fields. Examples are listed below:
- Environment Canada: RFI was the Executing Agency for the Clean Development Mechanism (CDM) component of Canadian-China Cooperation on Climate Change, a three-year public-private sector partnership to deliver a multi-million dollar project on climate change in China, funded by the Canadian International Development Agency (CIDA).
- Carleton University, Ottawa, Canada: RFI is working with the Graduate School in Public Administration to develop leading "Young Environmental Professionals". RFI runs an internship programme and funds the RFI Scholarship in Environmental Governance, which is awarded to students conducting excellent research in strengthening environment-related institutions at the international, national or local levels.
- India: Confederation of Indian Industries (CII), Environmental Management Division (EMD): RFI and CII-EMD have cooperated since 1997 on a series of projects related to corporate environmental performance, sound management of chemicals, trade and environment, and greenhouse gas mitigation.
- Mexico: Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT) and the Institute of National Ecology (INE): RFI has worked extensively with SEMARNAT and INE since 1995 on issues related to the sound management of chemicals.
- China: Tsinghua University, Beijing: RFI has partnered with Tsinghua University on climate change projects in China since 2000.
- Cambodia: Ta Prohm Environmental, Phnom Phenh: RFI partnered with local consultants to establish an office in Cambodia dedicated to building local capacity for environmental advisory services.
- Business Councils: RFI is an active member of the Canada-China Business Council, the Canada-India Business Council, the Ontario Environmental Industries Association and several trade promotion organizations.
- Project Partnerships: RFI regularly partners with management and engineering firms and not-for-profit, non-government organizations around the world to deliver specific projects.
