Suncorp hires UBank’s Hatton to lead its banking and wealth division.
Suncorp hired former UBank CEO Lee Hatton to lead its banking and wealth division.
The business also announced the hire of Jeremy Robson as group chief financial officer.
Hatton replaces David Carter who left the business a month ago.
Hatton worked at National Australia Bank’s digital bank UBbank since 2015 and will begin her job with Suncorp in the first half of next year.
Her career also includes senior roles at BNZ, National Australia Bank and Great Western Bank in the United States.
“Lee’s mandate is to ensure Suncorp Bank builds on its position as a strong regional bank with an unwavering focus on its customers and their local communities, while continuing to deliver sustainable contributions to the Group’s performance,” Suncorp CEO Steve Johnston said.
Hatton said she was looking forward to leading Suncorp Bank through a transformational time in the banking industry.
“Suncorp Bank is already outperforming its peers and some of the majors through its digital banking capabilities and has signalled its intention to strengthen its core banking offerings through its strong investment in organisational capability and culture,” she said.
Robson has had an extensive financial services career during which he has also been responsible for strategy and corporate development, group performance and capital management, and external reporting.
Robson has been acting group CFO since May 2019 and has also held deputy group CFO, Suncorp Life CEO and Suncorp Life CFO roles since joining the Group in 2013.
