Integrated Planning for Sustainable Development

RFI's services help clients to enhance development outcomes through application of improved priority-setting processes so as to improve integration of priorities across programmes and sectors and achieve more focused and efficient use of human and financial resources. To this end, we work with our clients to:

  • Develop pragmatic strategies for implementation of priorities
  • Integrate or "mainstream" priorities within governance frameworks
  • Improve alignment of priorities within national budgetary and international aid frameworks
  • Develop guidance and training packages to help clients integrate new procedures within their institutional processes and to assist them with outreach to their constituencies (e.g., to, country offices, ministries and departments, and association members).

Who Can Best Deploy RFI's Expertise for Integrated Planning in Support of Poverty Reduction?

  • Developing country governments and non-governmental organizations seeking to improve their capacities and effectively set priorities for near- and long-term sustainable development and poverty reduction within the context of national planning and aid frameworks.
  • Bilateral and multilateral aid organizations working with developing countries and countries with economies-in-transition to build and strengthen domestic governance institutions, and policies and programmes for sustainable development.
  • Canadian government departments and agencies seeking to establish bilateral cooperation frameworks with developing countries.
