Lyn Cobley to join CBA's board

Lyn Cobley, the former CEO of Westpac’s institutional business will join CBA’s board as an independent non-executive director in October.

She brings over 30 years’ experience in financial services to the board.

During and after the GFC, she was CBA’s treasurer, running the finances of the bank through those extremely challenging times.

She’s also been chair of Westpac’s Asia advisory board, head of financial institutions at Barclays and has experience in fintech start-ups. Most recently, she was a senior adviser at Oliver Wyman.

Meanwhile, Shirish Apte, an independent non-executive director of the CBA board, has decided not to offer himself for re-election at the 2022 annual general meeting.

Apte joined the board in June 2014 and has been a member of the board audit committee and board risk and compliance committee and is a former chair of the board risk and compliance committee.

Apte will retire from the Board at the conclusion of the 2022 AGM.
