ME Crowns the Crane
ME Bank acting CEO Adam Crane has been confirmed as CEO after “proving himself” since he took over the reins in July.
“It was a smooth and effective transition, and importantly, he has the respect of our employees, shareholders and stakeholders generally,” ME Bank chair James Evans said.
Crane has previously worked as the bank’s CFO, having joined the bank in August 2019.
He took up the role in July following the departure of long-term serving CEO Jamie McPhee.
Crane said ME Bank has been a local success story and the “original challenger bank”.
“ME Bank’s track record of customer growth shows that this has struck a chord. People have embraced ME’s promise of simple banking products and easy to deal with customer service,” Crane said.
“I would like to thank our people for their support and for their tireless commitment to our customers during what continues to be challenging times.
“Being an Aussie success story is a matter of great pride for us.”
