Asia: CTBC launches new credit card line to tie-up with Line Pay

CTBC Bank Taiwan recently launched its new credit card line which ties up with Line Pay. Line Pay is a mobile payment service offered by Line messaging which allows users to make payments through the app at merchants by registering their credit cards. On top of this, this service also allows Line users to send money to one another. Since it was launched, Line Pay has acquired 1.3 million users in Taiwan due to its widely accepted on stores, such as 7-eleven and Family Mart – Taiwan’s biggest convenience store chains. Considering the popularity of Line Pay CTBC’s partnering with Line Pay aims to issue 1.2 million cards and generate sales on NT$ 66 billion within one year.
