Canada: CIBC launches in-app voice commands for mobile app

CIBC has announced the launch of an in-app voice command service that allows consumers to access and explore banking products and services using their voice. This follows the launch of CIBC’s ‘Digital Cart’ service which allows users to open and apply for banking products including deposit accounts, overdraft protection and credit cards, all through a mobile device. The new tool works on voice-enabled smartphones and will allow users to perform tasks such as transferring money and retrieving any past transaction history and statements within the mobile app. The CIBC app is available on both Android and iOS devices.

CIBC have stated that the launch of the new feature aims to further develop customer experience, with Aayaz Pira saying that adding voice commands will help create a unique, personalized in-app service, and help to deepen mobile user experience.
